Job Description


This is a full-time position. The Operations Staff Accountant is a responsible for supporting daily, weekly, period, quarterly and yearly transaction processing and reporting for a region with multiple locations with small to large sales volume operations. This position may be responsible in supervising the day-to-day activities of administrative staff. This position is responsible for evaluating the accounting processes at their location, focusing on standardization and simplification, as well as performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by Management. This is an exempt position and typically reports to the Operations Controller.

Essential Functions:

•Conducts the preparation and transmission of branch accounting information such as sales and profit figures, payroll data, accruals, transfers and inventories
•Maintains internal accounting records and assists in preparing timely branch management and corporate/regional reports
•Assists in maintaining the appropriate control environment within their area of responsibility ensuring compliance with all corporate accounting standards within the their defined geographic area and provides necessary training to branch management in accounting standards and corporate policies and procedures
•Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the region
•Assists in preparing reports and presentations for management review
•Supports the processing and reporting of transactions throughout an area of responsibility


Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

•Requires a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance
•Requires 2 years of office experience
•Requires strong accounting skills with a focus on reconciliation of ledger accounts
•Requires proficiency in Excel
•Requires the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
•Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Requires the ability to effectively read and interpret contractual agreements
•Requires the ability to travel 10%
