Sr. Staff Accountant – Bank and Payroll Reconciliations
•Perform reconciliations for Banking & Payroll Departments. These departments serve as the primary internal control resource assessed with identifying and reducing potential Balance Sheet risk and exposure. The reconciliation group maintains, develops and implements accounting processes to ensure the integrity of financial data and ensure the accurate and timely processing of all banking related activities.
•Provides a high level of customer support to the HMSHost field locations, Payroll Processing and external partners
•position will be responsible for interacting with all aspects of the accounting cycle including month-end and year-end close, journal entries
•Performs account analysis and ensures follow-up and resolution of issues
•Communicates with a wide range of internal and external customers (other departments, field locations, management, etc.)
•Identifies and recommends process improvements to create efficiencies with daily tasks
•Provide support in the form of data gathering and data compilation to supervisors on non-routine projects. Provide support to Staff Accountants II in resolving minor issues and provide clarification on reconciliation processes
•Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
•Requires 3-5 years of relevant experience
•Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel a plus
•Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Query/nVision a plus
•Strong organizational and multitasking skills
•Requires excellent problem solving skills
